LED vs LCD display. What is the difference !

What exactly the difference between these two types of display ?

LED – are those that shine red and the LCD is not illuminated.
LED can be read in the dark are made on the basis of leds. LCD – contain special liquid – liquid crystal – between the two panes of glass. LCD – consume little power, can all the time show the hour, while the LED are incorporated by only one second to read the time. They then automatically turns them off – to save battery power.

…Exactly as the person above says. LCD displays consume little power, but they do not light up, e.g. at night.
